Quad Cities IA/IL-5/9/12

Before heading to the Quad Cities, CN had a pair of "J's" parked in the hole in "A" Yard.

A UP coal drag dips under the IAIS Govt Bridge in
Davenport.

CP 3019 switches Nahant.

IC&E 114(ex SOO) idles in Nahant Yard.

High-hood shot.

A tight squeeze shot of SOO 1532.

That UP coal train again departing Nahant.

IC&E 6415 idling at the roundhouse. CITX 3054 is behind him.

The IC&E tanks at Nahant Yard.

Another SOO switcher sits dead in the yard.

IC&E 6415, the "City of Garner" unit.

IC&E 4205

Heads and tails

A Saskatchewan hopper in Nahant Yard.

BICB08 crossing the Govt Bridge and passing the eastbound
distance signal in Davenport.

IC&E 6403 north heads for the clear at SSS Bettendorf, with the CP Rail Train.

Few minutes later the CP Weed Sprayer heads in the hole
at SSS Bettendorf.

This southbound freight train with IC&E 6428 on the point of train 273 continues south after meeting the Rail Train and the Weed Sprayer train at SSS Bettendorf. The switch is operated by radio control from the engineer by dial-toning a code into the switch, very similar to the switch at Yocum Connection on the Iowa Interstate.

CP 273 had a very nice paint scheme from CITX 3072 behind the leader.

IAIS 509 east with the ICSI passing by the local machine shop

Few minutes later, CBBI08 comes into Rock Island with 507, 500 and 120 cars.
